Nigeria’s Co-Creation Hub Invites Stakeholders To Meet The Hub’s Canvas
Yesterday, we broke the news that Nigeria’s Co-creation hub has received $245,000 in funding from Omidyar Networkand the Indigo Trust in order to foster the development of technology-driven social enterprises in Nigeria.
This is not the first time that Omidyar Network is investing into a Nigerian venture. In February 2011, Omidyar Network gave a grant of about $130,000 to Enough is Enough Nigeria (EiE Nigeria) coalition and about $450,000 to Sahara Reporters in May 2011.
The proposed Co-creation Hub which is located on the 6th Floor of Herbert Macaulay Way in the Yaba area of Lagos would accommodate 50-60 tech start-ups at one time and will provide pre-incubation services including: advice, training, mentorship and access to funding through a network of local and international partners.
The Hub would also be a great place for stakeholders to meet, brainstorm, share ideas and collaborate through partnership events, meet-ups, focus groups, hackathons, competitions and talks by guest speakers.
As an integral stakeholder in the Nigerian tech ecosystem, we’ve been invited to view the canvas on which the HUB is being built and to learn about the vision behind the initiative later this evening.
The Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB) is due to launch in August 2011.
