Building on the success of the Maga No Need Pay video by MISSPIN, an initiative by Paradigm Initiative Nigeria and Microsoft Nigeria, an online video contest has been announced.
The video contest seeks entries from young Nigerians with youth-focused, citizen-created ideas to respond to a question: How Can Nigeria Tackle Cybercrime Effectively?
The videos can come in any form that’ll capture audiences and deliver on the question: “How Can Nigeria Tackle Cybercrime Effectively?” and should be posted online and link sent via email to info[at]pinigeria.org or via CD/DVD to P. O. Box 51899 Ikoyi.
The contest allows participants (aged 15-28) to enter and entries must be received by 5pm, December 7, 2011.
The best of the video entries will be screened at the offices of the hosts (and posted online), along with a letter requesting for their support towards the success of a firm and fair cybercrime legislation that will also empower at-risk youth with adequate ICT skills and opportunities.
According to PIN, top 5 winners of the video contest will be invited to join the all-expenses paid MISSPIN National Assembly visit.
The courtesy visit will include a Roundtable Discussion at the National Assembly in Abuja to discuss the new draft cybercrime bill that was developed by a committee drawn across various government departments.
