Mobile Web West Africa 2012 To Host Blackberry-Sponsored App Developer Day
Following its massively successful inaugural mobile web event in 2011, All Amber has stepped up this years’ event with ambitious plans to establish Mobile Web West Africa as the leading mobile-focused conference within the region.
In a bid to engage with West African app developers, the organisers have partnered with Blackberry and InMobi for two exciting app developer competitions before and during the event.
The pre-event competition lets you develop a mobile application for attendees to use at MWWA 2012 on the BlackBerry OS. The app should provide venue and local information — including maps, transport, weather, places of interest — the event agenda, sessions and speaker faculty.
The best app would win an all-expenses paid trip to the next Blackberry DEVCON in Europe as well as free entry to Mobile Web West Africa and the BlackBerry App Developer Day.
The event day app competition allows you to submit any mobile app you’ve developed and a chance to showcase your app at the event. The winner of this app competition would receive $1500 worth of InMobi ad network spend and a brand new BlackBerry smartphone.
This years’ event will feature a two-day conference and an App Developer Day, sponsored by BlackBerry and dedicated exclusively to the development of applications for Blackberry devices.
The event to hold at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos on April 24 – 26, will attract stellar international, continental and local speakers to discuss key mobile web and mobile application topics.
Speakers would include representatives from key industry players such as MXit, Bozza, Twinpine, InMobi, Storm 360, Eskimi, Spinlet, TBWA Africa and Research in Motion (makers of Blackberry).
The App Developer Day on April 24 would provide training and information to new and existing app developers who have a strong interest in building and monetising apps in the future.
