Telecommunications giant, MTN is reportedly making plans to unveil Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 devices to its subscribers in three African markets by December, according to Technology Times.
The publication cites MTN Group Chief Commercial Officer, Christian de Faria, saying that Nigeria will be one of the three markets in Africa to deliver Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 devices to its customers including MTN South Africa launching in November and MTN Ghana and MTN Nigeria launching in December.
What this means is that MTN customers in South Africa, Ghana and Nigeria will be among the first users in the world to experience the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 operating systems, with other markets to follow.
Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 provide users with a unified experience across the PC, phone and tablet. With this launch, MTN customers are expected to have “a fast and fluid experience that comes to life with exciting hardware and applications and interoperability with the cloud.”
