While some say it’s a heavy and thick smartphone, we feel that the Nokia Lumia 920 is a smartphone with a heavy build, yet feels light when handled, thanks to its plastic back which seemingly takes the weight off it.
Arguably the most powerful, feature-rich Windows phone available yet, the Lumia 920 offers almost all of the features that you’ll ever need in a smartphone.
I got a review unit from Nokia last Monday for a couple of days and after holding my breath for a day or so, I finally started digging into the features and was mightily impressed by the phone’s specs, speed and sleekyness.
Here’s a video review showing some of the features I found to be cool and interesting.
One of my favourite features on the Lumia 920 is its Windows Speech app that lets you open up apps by talking to the phone, as shown in the video below.
I also streamed some Fela Kuti tracks from the Windows Store and of course you can purchase these songs from the store.
And played the Angry Birds Space and Angry Birds Star Wars games which was fun and enjoyable.
While I’m working on a detailed review, my first impressions are that the Nokia Lumia 920 is a solid, smooth and sleek smartphone, although its battery seems to quickly run down, depending on the number of apps running on it.
However, it does have a battery saver which when turned on allows your phone to automatically turn off some services or apps while in standby mode to help preserve the battery life.
Another problem, of course, is that it is currently exclusive to MTN, which may result in a loss of sales. But the bottom line is this: if you want the most powerful, feature-rich Windows phone available yet, the Lumia 920 is a must-buy.
