As the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations kicks-off this weekend in South Africa, football fans all over Africa and around the world can stay informed via Orange’s official app for the competition.
The app, available on only two platforms, iOS and Android, provides up-to-date news on the teams and tournament, full access to fixtures and results for each stage of the event, live alerts to keep up to date with line-ups, goals and final scores, exclusive video highlights and many more features.
With social features, it allows users to share content such as tournament news and updates from the app via Facebook and Twitter with friends and family. It also has a tablet version for Android and iPad devices. But, Blackberry users who wished they could share in the AFCON 2013 experience would be disappointed as the app isn’t available on the Blackberry App World.
Followed by more than 6 billion TV viewers worldwide, the Orange Africa Cup of Nations is the biggest African sporting event and the company believes that the ambitious digital deployment plan developed for competition’s 29th edition would allow even more football fans across the globe to enjoy the entire competition wherever they are.
