Mi-fone Plans $30 Million Phone Manufacturing Plant in Nigeria

African mobile phone manufacturer, Mi-fone is reportedly planning to establish a $30 million manufacturing plant in Nigeria, according to BusinessDay.

Citing the company’s CEO, Alpesh Patel, the business and financial newspaper reports that the assembly plant would come on stream by the end of the third quarter of 2013, who pointed out that the sheer size of the Nigerian market was enough incentive for any phone manufacturer to establish an assembly plant.

The company, launched in 2008, operates in over 17 markets in Africa and has sold over 1 million units as at December 2012.
