Samsung Unveils Its Much-Anticipated SmartWatch, Galaxy Gear [PHOTOS]
Samsung, on Wednesday, became the first global mobile computing company to launch a smart watch, ahead of rivals Apple, Google and Microsoft in the “wearable technology” market.
The smart watch called Galaxy Gear has a super AMOLED display of 1.63 inches (about 41.4 mm) screen and comes with a memory of 512 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory and spots a 1.9MP auto focus camera. Its battery is said to last up to 25 hours upon full charge.
The device features apps from the Gear store and lets you make and receive calls, take photos, read messages and emails on the go and connects seamlessly with most of the features on the Galaxy smartphone S 4 such as S Voice, S Health, etc.
The company, during its Unpacked event in Berlin ahead of the IFA 2013, announced that the device would be available globally by end of September, but didn’t provide any details on pricing.
