New App Lets You Drift Through Content From Different Sources In A Fun And Intuitive Way
Ever wanted to catch up with the latest local and international news from leading sources in a fun and intuitive way?
Kenya-based Android developer, Abel Masai has just released an awesome app called NewsDrift which aggregates news from several sources including Kenya’s Daily Nation, Business Daily, The Star and Capital FM as well as international news channels such as Forbes, Business Insider, Mashable, CNET among others.
The app available on the Google Play lets you read, share and even save news articles for later reading. The app also provides support for offline reading, so you can load stories while you have a data connection, and then read them later when you’re out of data connection.
Other features of the app include multi-pane view when reading news on a tablet or in landscape mode and the ability to share stories on Facebook, Twitter or Email, etc.
You can also customize your news content, allowing you to read news only from the content providers of your choice as well as swipe between pages for cool animation effects, although this feature is only available for Android 4.0 and above devices.
The app also features a search icon at the top right hand corner which lets you find stories based on keywords (e.g ‘tech’) very quickly from several sources.
I’ve been playing around with the app for some time now and must say that this is the most insanely designed news aggregator app out of Africa yet.
