Nigerian Blog Awards 2013 Set For Nominations On September 23
Now in its 4th year, the Nigerian Blog Awards organized by veteran blogger, Jumoke Fasoyinu to recognize blogging excellence in Nigeria has unveiled a new user-friendly website for this year’s awards, with nominations starting on September 23.
Every year, the highly respected and credible blog awards invites bloggers of Nigerian descent or non-Nigerians whose blogs focus on Nigeria to nominate and vote their blog during the Awards period.
The new awards website now has a more organized system of listing blogs based on categories which upon listing your blog gets added within 48 hours. If you have already listed your blog on the previous site’s system, your blog would still be listed on the 2012-2013 list of Nigerian blogs, but you would have to re-list it on the site’s new system for it to show up.
“The blogs that were previously listed on the site are still accessible, but we think this new system will be more user friendly,” says Jummy.
This year’s awards has 28 categories from beauty to travel blogs including the top award, Nigerian Blog of the Year, which rewards the best overall blog by a Nigerian. Last year, Linda Ikeji’s blog won the Nigerian Blog of the Year for both judge’s choice and popular vote.
An exclusively online awards ceremony since its inception, the Nigerian Blog Awards plans to host a live awards show starting in 2014. As a result, it has started accepting sponsors for the Awards brand, while sponsors of the 2013 Awards will receive special consideration when selecting sponsors for the live event in 2014.
The Nigerian Blog Awards were established in 2010 to recognize excellence in blogging by Nigerians and by non-Nigerians who blog about Nigeria. Nominations for this year’s awards starts on Monday, September 23.
