New E-Commerce Site Lets You Order Auto Parts, Electrical Accessories And Building Materials in Nigeria
We get excited each time we hear about a new e-commerce site launching into the fast-growing space. On a weekly basis, we get a lot of email pitches from the entrepreneurs who run them and have covered a whole lot of them here on TechLoy.
But since we can’t cover all of them, we try to focus on the ones that have distinguished themselves in the space, either by their unique product offerings, customer service or operational logistics.
While there’s been a flurry of niche-focused online shopping services as well as general merchandise-styled e-commerce sites to cater to the needs of every Internet user, none of them have allowed users to buy auto parts, electrical accessories and building materials.
Enter GoKool. A new e-commerce site that lets you shop for building and construction materials, home and office furnitures, electrical accessories and appliances, automobile parts and accessories from major dealers and distributors.
The site claims to have partnered with these distributors, allowing customers to order for their preferred items without any hassles. GoKool says product delivery from local merchants takes between 1-4 days from date of purchase to get to the customer while those from foreign partners takes 7-21 days to deliver.
While the cost of delivery may be borne by the customer, “goods worth 4,000 naira and above are delivered for free while products worth less than that, takes an extra 500 naira to ship,” according to its site. It is unclear if GoKool accepts payment on delivery, as is the case with other e-commerce sites.
But as the averse for shopping online continues to abate over the years amongst Internet users in Nigeria, one wonders if customers would be willing to buy items such as auto parts from an e-commerce site, especially since buyers would be keen on getting genuine and authentic parts.
What are your thoughts about this e-commerce niche? Would you shop for such items online?
