Last week, TechLoy reported that TECNO, a leading manufacturer of high-end smartphones and feature phones for emerging markets, was set to launch a device after getting the hint from a source familiar with the matter.
March 1, 2016, the device – TECNO DROIPAD 7C PRO – was launched at a media briefing held at the Digital Square building in Ikeja, Lagos.
The elegant TECNO DROIPAD 7C PRO fuses the computing ability of high-end tablets with top-of-the-line Android experience of smart phones to give end users a two-in-one Pad + Phone experience.
“We see a huge opportunity in the tablet and pads segment of the market; it is a largely unattended market with few players pegging product price within the reach of end users who need them the most. In the years ahead, TECNO hopes to control significant market share in the tablet segment of the market, by giving users best quality product at prices they can afford,” The Marketing Lead, TECNO tablet Business Unit, Gbenga Oguntade said in a press release made available to TechLoy.
The TECNO DROIPAD 7C PRO boasts MediaTek high performance MT8321 cortex A7 chipset, Quad-core 1.3GHz CPU, and an impressive Mali-400 GPU.
The device spots an IPS display, 16GB internal memory, 1GB RAM, battery capacity of 3,000mAh and runs on Android Lollipop (v5.1).
Commending the In-plane switching (IPS) display of the new device, CEO of Payporte, Eyo Bassey said the device offered end users a new viewing experience.
“The DROIPAD 7C PRO’s high capacitive touch screen brings picture colour to life, helping the end user immerse in life’s fun moments with striking lucidity and great detail,” he said.
Other features of the 7-inch device includes a front and back cameras with dual LED flash and dual SIM card slots – Standard SIM + Micro SIM. The device spots a premium metal unibody and comes in three striking shades namely: Campaign Gold, Space Grey and Silver.
The TECNO DROIPAD 7C PRO, launched in response to a growing demand by end users for high performance products in the tablet and pad segment, is the successor of the DROIPAD 7C, which was released last year.
With the launch of the Pro, TECNO seeks to consolidate its push for the top spot in Nigeria tablet and mini PCs market.
Since TECNO commenced business operations in Nigeria few years back, it has taken the phone industry by storm, churning quality, durable and lovable smartphones, not least the flagship premium smartphone, Phantom 5 which was launched in November last year.
