Remember Nitel? Most of you will do. I particularly remember the company’s mobile arm, MTel. Well, we all know what happened to the telco.
The good story is the telco’s core assets was eventually acquired (in liquidation) by NatCom Development and Investment Limited, with the process completed in May 2015. From then on, NiTel/MTel core telecoms assets were wholly transferred to NatCom.
NatCom (trading as ntel) is set to launch operations in Nigeria and is calling on Nigerians to reserve their 0804 numbers, as a first step in the launch process.
Once a number has been reserved, customers are expected to activate the number within 90 days by visiting an ntel Distributor outlet to physically pick up a SIM after completing the regulatory SIM registration process.
To finally activate the SIM, customers will be required to load airtime or purchase a data bundle.
ntel number reservation is available to customers in 3 of Nigeria’s largest cities: Lagos; Abuja; and Port Harcourt, where ntel will launch a new 4G/LTE Advanced mobile network.
Further cities will be added over time with ntel projecting to cover 85% of Mobile Broadband spending with its LTE Advanced services within three years and some 95% within 5 years.
ntel’s 4G/LTE Advanced network will provide high-speed Internet access, quality access to OTT applications such as YouTube/WhatsApp; Voice-over-LTE services; Conventional SMS; and Video services.
If you’re interested in joining the ntel network, you should reserve a number today and be the first to enjoy its proposed mind-blowing services. Reservation closes on June 5, 2016.
ntel has been in the news for awhile now. The company made its first on-net test data call in Lagos on January 18, 2016, and on February 26, 2016, the company announced it has made its first Voice over LTE (VoLTE) call at its new Tier III data centre located on Lagos Island.
ntel stated that these events are significant because “they signal the beginning of a new phase in Nigeria’s Telecoms industry with ntel building on foundations established by NiTEL/MTel but using new technology that is the most advanced available to telecommunications operators, globally.”
Through the delivery of abundant broadband-based mobile services, ntel hopes to boost prosperity and transform the lives of Nigerians.
Once again, RESERVE your ntel number TODAY!!!
