“The rising number of potential young innovators is an opportunity to harness their powerful minds in a bid to create a community of innovators and inculcate the culture of creativity, innovativeness and continuous learning,” said Dr Tonny Omwansa, Director of C4DLab.
The one-day seminar is themed “Innovation by the youth for a brighter tomorrow” and will entail key note presentations, panel discussions, as well as case study presentations.
“The event is expected to attract members of the academia ranging from university leadership to faculty and students from various disciplines, university partners such as entrepreneurs, organizations and government who appreciate the value of innovation in their organizations and society, members of the public who want to listen to presentations, learn and participate in the discussions, among others,” Dr Omwansa added.
The Young Innovator’s Forum will take place at the University of Nairobi’s Chiromo Campus, and will run twice-a-year.
This Forum is a dress rehearsal to the once-in-a-year technology exhibition week, Nairobi Innovation Week which takes place in August 2016.
The Forum is organized in partnership with IBM, Barclays, Google, Unicef, Unified Innovation Society and a host of others.
