ShowMax partners yet another store to make subscription vouchers available to customers

ShowMax, a South African subscription-based video-on-demand service, has partnered yet another another store to make its subscription vouchers available to customers, especially those who can’t pay via credit card or PayPal.

The subscription vouchers will be available at all Makro stores all over South Africa.

“These partnerships are a big deal for us to give users a really convenient experience. The in-store vouchers are about giving subscribers more options to pay. For the ISPs it’s about looking at ways to give our users fast internet at a fair price to stream and download ShowMax content,” General Manager at ShowMax South Africa, John Kotsaftis said in a press release.

ShowMax has previously partnered with Pick n Pay, CNA and Game stores to make its subscription vouchers available to its customers. Through these partnerships, ShowMax seeks to improve access to Internet TV in South Africa.

It is also addressing the cost and lack of Internet connectivity through a partnership with Telkom to give subscribers access to high-speed internet at an affordable price.

“We are developing ShowMax to address specific challenges in the South African market like the fact that many consumers don’t have a credit card. The same applies to the lack of internet connectivity, which is why our app supports downloads,” John added.

The subscription vouchers can also be bought online using eBucks.

Launched in 2015, Naspers-owned ShowMax has the largest video entertainment catalogue in Africa with over 20,000 episodes of hit TV shows and movies.

It costs R99 per month and no special equipment is needed to use the service. ShowMax is available on your phone, tablet, computer or smart TV.

ShowMax is compatible with iOS and Android devices, Google Chromecast, Apple TV and AirPlay, plus Samsung and LG smart TVs.
