TECNO, a leading manufacturer of high-end smartphones and feature phones for emerging markets, has launched the Boom J8, giving music lovers in the country something to cheer about.
The Boom J8, which is an upgrade of the 2015-launched BOOM J7 and J5, comes with top-of-the-line features. It has a plastic and metal trimming design, and spots an immersive 5.5”HD IPS touch screen, 13MP AF geo-tagging Back Camera with flash and a 5.0MP Front Camera with flash.
Powered by MediaTek Quad-core processor, the Boom J8 comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, room for a Micro SD which can take up to 128GB of extra memory, and dual SIM slot.
“BOOM J8 matches the hype with premium specifications and material design. This music phone is elegant in every way, it is a sheer product of hard work and outlandish thinking,” said Chidi Okonkwo, TECNO MD, Nigeria.
Being a music smartphone, the Boom J8 comes pre-installed with the BOOM Max app, a custom music equalization feature that will totally hook mobile users who listen to music in detail.
Also, the BOOM player app, Africa’s largest in-app music library, is pre-installed on the sleek smartphone. Each box of the smartphone comes with a free headphone – the Boom Headphone – for consumers to enjoy all the music housed in the BOOM player!
The Boom J8 runs on the HiOS,
Apple’s TECNO’s custom operating system. The HiOS – developed by over 500 TECNO engineers – places the Boom J8 at the core of mobile customers’ demands because of its unique user interface, improved app management options and highly optimized audio features.
“The HiOS operating system which gives the BOOM J8 more room for intuitive functions and the phone’s highly optimized software features has earned it impressive ratings from mobile tech analysts who partnered TECNO in reviewing the smart phone before its launch. TECNO’s BOOM J8 might well be the best music-centric smartphone of its price range in the market,” said Attai Oguche, TECNO Marketing and PR Lead.
The Boom J8 comes with a 3,000mAh battery which is equivalent to the 5,000mAh of other phones due to the amazing features of the HiOS.
The flagship device will sell for NGN40,999 across offline and online sales outlets nationwide.
The Boom J8 was launched on March 31, 2016 at the Golf View Hotel and Suites in Ikeja and had in attendance dignitaries from government regulatory bodies, print and online media houses, Telecom companies, support organizations, and the entertainment industry.
With the launch of the Boom J8, TECNO Mobile aims to further stamp its authority as the first and best OEM Company in Nigeria and across Africa.
