African Startup TV, an indigenous web-based TV, has been launched into the Nigerian media industry, with the aim of telling the stories of African entrepreneurs.
The web TV will feature news, interviews, how-tos, stories and interesting articles about the African Entrepreneurship spirit.
According to the CEO of the startup, Roberta Edu, the initiative became necessary due to the growing need and importance to tell the African Entrepreneurship story to Nigerians and the world at large.
“We are very excited to launch African Startup TV which can always be accessed on the Internet anywhere at anytime, to basically tell the African story as we also use the platform to inspire many others to start their own business leveraging technologies like the Internet,” she said.
African Startup TV will be featuring interesting stories of African Entrepreneurs who are building their businesses despite all odds.
“Their story of starting a business in Africa is a unique one that inspires, educates and empowers,” she added.
In its first week of launch, the platform featured interesting episodes of interviews with some African Entrepreneurs, and viewers from across the globe have started visiting.
This puts Africa on the right part in providing her own content and narratives that will encourage development across the continent.
“We are providing this medium to help showcase their work and their resilience to the world. This is our way of supporting African Entrepreneurship and to help build the Africa of our dreams,” Roberta concluded.
African Startup TV was a media partner at the Mobile West Africa, West Africa’s leading technology event, which took place in Lagos, Nigeria on April 20-21, 2016.
The platform was founded by Roberta Edu, a Tech & Digital Expert, Web Broadcaster and Cinematographer, in March 2016.
