Twitter launches Connect tab to help users easily find new accounts to follow

Microblogging platform, Twitter has announced the launch of Connect tab to help users easily find new accounts to follow.

As from now on, a detailed list of people and accounts Twitter thinks users would like to follow will be presented to them in an easily accessible manner – all in one place.

These recommendations – which will be continuously refined from time to time – will be based on things such as who a user already follows, Tweets they like, popular accounts in their locality, happenings around the world, and more.

Twitter will also go the extra mile to let users know exactly why each of the recommendations are being shown to them.

The Connect tab also makes it easier for users to connect with their friends and family by allowing them to automatically sync their address book.

Once someone in their address book joins Twitter, they’ll be notified so that such person can be given a warm welcome!

“We’re thrilled to get this new feature into your hands and help you connect with even more people that are relevant to you,” Twitter said in a blogpost.

The Connect tab started rolling out yesterday to everyone on Twitter for iOS and Android.

To get it, make sure to update your app and you’ll see a little blue prompt introducing the Connect tab when it’s available for you.
