Applications are currently being accepted into the Infiniti Accelerator, a programme aimed at supporting and accelerating the progress of early-stage Smart City and Internet of Things (IoT) companies, and African startups have been invited to join in.
Powered by Nest, a Hong Kong-based investment company, the programme seeks startups that are developing tech solutions across the spheres of urban mobility, utilities, connected hardware, communications or real-estate, and have the aspirations to build their business in Asia.
The selected startups, about 8 in number, will receive mentorship from carefully selected business leaders and experts in funding, marketing, PR, scaling, running concepts, pilot testing and more.
The startup will also receive business resources, networking opportunities, education, dedicated workspace, and of course funding.
The programme, which will run for 12 weeks at the Infiniti Lab HKG, a dedicated open-plan, multifunctional space in Hong Kong, will commence on June 21 and end in September 27, 2016 with an Investor Demo Day.
At the Investor Demo Day, the startups will showcase their product or service to a range of potential investors including venture capitalists and influential industry leaders for funding and partnerships.
“Leveraging both the Nest and Infiniti’s exceptional business networks, participants will benefit from the knowledge and expertise of key industry leaders and renowned entrepreneurs,” the organizers stated on its website.
African startups interested in this programme should apply as soon as possible. Applications will close on May 10, 2016.
The Infiniti Accelerator is the brainchild of the Hong Kong-headquartered Infiniti Motor Company Ltd. This is the second time the programme is running.
The programme is supported by IBM, Microsoft, InvestHK, KPMG, SoftLayer and a range of other high flying and renowned companies.
