Following calls for applications, Evey, alongside 13 other startups, was selected to pitch in the finals of the competition.
The finals took place on May 18, 2016 at the conference hall of Dauphine University, and after the pitch sessions, Evey was named winner. Placing second is investment based crowdfunding platform, Afrikwity while Expensya, an expense management software, came third.
Evey is a web & mobile platform that helps communities make real time votes and surveys in order to increase engagement, interactivity and to facilitate decision making.
Simply put, Evey democratizes votes for better decision making!
Evey will now represent Tunisia (and invariably Africa) at the world finals of the competition in Switzerland where it will compete for over US$1 million in investment with other startups from across the globe.
Seedstars Tunis (the first Seedstars event in Tunisia) is the second Seedstars World event to hold in Africa this year – the first was Seedstars Alexandria, which was won by Tutorama, a curated marketplace of top quality tutors (the Airbnb of tutoring).
The Seedstars World team will tour 17 more African countries before the year comes to an end in search of the continent’s most promising tech startups.
