GAP Innovation Competitions seeks to reward small enterprises and research groups with solutions that improve the efficiency of government service delivery, increase the competitiveness of the local economy and enhance the quality of life of ordinary citizens.
Winners of the competition will share over R2.5 million in seed funding and cash prizes. They will also receive incubation services with technical and business mentors, intellectual property lawyers and access to a network of industry and government partners.
Innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs in ICT, Medical, Biosciences and the Green Economy can apply. Applications will close on June 2, 2016.

Previous winners of the competition include Prof. Luke Chimuka for his water-based Moringa ingredient extraction technology for Moringa enriched food products and Desmond Mongwe for MoWallet, a mobile coupon platform for retailers.
