Andela, a company that identifies high-potential software developers in Africa, has announced the launch of a special software development program for Lagosians.
Called the Open Andela Lagos Study Bootcamp, the program seeks to provide an accessible version of the original Andela Homestudy Program to young Lagosians interested in pursuing a career in Software Development.
During the program, participants will be taught the basics of coding from Andela’s home study curriculum, providing them the opportunity of having a successful career in technology.
The participants will be introduced to the practical concepts of Software Development with an eye to helping them develop their career in the ICT space.
Interested participants (Lagosians with LASSRA Registration Number) should apply for the program on or before June 6, 2016. The program proper will commence in June (date not known at the moment) and end in August.
After applying, participants will be emailed an online test that measures their logical reasoning and personality fit. Successful applicants will participate in the program, receiving full-time training in Andela’s facilities for 11 weeks.
On completion of the program, participants will receive several benefits such as Certificate of Participation, an opportunity to be admitted to the prestigious and exclusive Andela Fellowship, an opportunity to participate in a job fair with Lagos’ top technology companies, a surprise gift et al.
“We are training future leaders committed to helping others succeed. As you advance in the program, you’ll learn what it takes to write code and develop software applications. The business of software consulting session will prepare you for endless career paths, including setting up your own company, founding your own company, and taking leadership roles at local and global tech companies,” Andela stated on its website.
The program is organized in partnership with the Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Wealth Creation & Employment and Ministry of Science & Technology for sustainable collaboration in technology skill acquisition and employability.
