Oo Nwoye Is Organzing A Meetup And Japanese Investor, Hiro Mashita Will Be In Attendance

Co-founder of Fonebase Labs, Oo Nwoye has announced he is organizing a tech meetup this month and prolific Japanese investor, Hiro Mashita will be attending.

Hiro who? you may ask. Here’s something about him: He’s the Founder and Director of m&s partners Pte. Limited, a company which provides advisory services for finance, IPO, M&A, operations, marketing, business development and global business expansion.

He invests in venture companies of any stage under his investment vehicle. Though a Japanese, he’s very active in the Indian startup scene. In fact, he was arguably India’s most prolific investor in 2015 – he made about a dozen investments.

Hiro Mashita.

Now this man with so much investments under his belt and his partner Tiro, will be in the country to find out more about the Lagos, and invariably Nigeria’s, techosystem (I think Oo trademarked this word already) and invest in a few startups.

On the one hand, Hiro, who keeps reminding me of robotics genius in Big Hero 6, Hiro Hamada, will sponsor a pitch competition on the day of the meetup. The winning startup will receive US$2,500.

On the other hand, He and his partner will be seriously looking for startups to invest in. Startups with the following themes: Mobile First, Energy, FinTech, Content, and On Demand Platforms, would interest them.

If your startup falls in the aforementioned themes and you’re looking to receive Hiro’s money, you should DM @OoTheNigerian or email him at ositanwoye at gmail dot com for more info on how to participate.

The meetup will take place on June 28, 2016 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Cre8 Space, a FinTech hub located at 6, Agoro Odiyan Stree, Eti-Osa, Lagos.

If, like me, you’re planning to attend the meetup to network and mingle with folks, you can register HERE, and do so with lightning speed because spaces are limited. It might interest you to know that really cold beer (STAR specifically) and Ribena will not be short supply at the event!

The meetup is organized by TechCircle, an organization Oo Nwoye created to manage his ecosystem activities, powered by Paystack, and supported by Café Neo and Fonebase Labs, makers of Callbase, Fonenode and WriteRack.
