Ventures Platform, a world-class full-service innovation hub based in Abuja, has announced it is accepting applications for its inaugural incubation program.
The incubation program seeks to provide accepted startups workspace, business strategy and capacity building, short term residency and seed funding.
During the program, the accepted startups will be mentored by successful entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders.
Also, the startups will be provided with tools needed to help them survive, grow and thrive ultimately. In addition to programs and a rigorous curriculum, startups that show promise will receive seed funding.
Startups across Nigeria operating in any sector of the economy can apply for the program. Applications will close on July 1, 2016.
As for the selection process, it has been designed to benefit every startup whether they get accepted into the program or not. This is how it will pan out:
At each stage, successful applicants are shortlisted and contacted to move on to the next stage, while unsuccessful applicants still gain valuable business knowledge.
The selection committee, which comprise successful entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders, will decide which startups gets selected to take part in the program – they have the final say!
They will select the final startups based on passion, ingenuity, stick-to-it-iveness (or tenacity), market viability, capacity to execute, et al.
The inaugural incubation program will take place from August to November 2016 in Abuja, Nigeria.
Ventures Platform was launched on June 3, 2016. It hopes to become the most ideal community in Africa for nurturing disruptive and financially sustainable technology ventures that also have a social impact.
