12 startups have been selected to pitch to prolific Japanese investor, Hiro Mashita at the TechCircle-organized Meetup: Drinks with Hiro Mashita and the Lagos Techosystem.
The startups were selected by a team of judges with the Radar Startup Competition also taken as an indication of interest.
In no particular order, the startups are described below:
Mydaz Aerospace is a drone-making startup. Its drones are capable of long range cargo delivery for medical supplies and purchased items, security/ surveillance which could mitigate pipeline vandalization, et al.
LUCY.ng is an online store and marketplace for souvenir gifts and promotional items.
Findworka is an online platform that connects quality service providers to potential clients.
Revova is a very simple service to help businesses, especially the SMBs , with their people affairs and related processes.
Showroom.ng is Nigeria’s premier online showroom for furniture and interior decor.
Travelbay is a one-stop online shop where users can buy and save up travel credits for holiday packages.
Kangpe allows people discuss health issues confidentially with verified doctors 24/7 via the ubiquitous mobile phone using SMS, Mobile App or Web.
OtondoMarket is an online solution to the problems of Nigerian students going to serve their father land.
Edves is an academic portal, automating manual operations in schools and colleges in Africa.
Lifebank is a startup which uses technology to end blood shortage. The startup helps your doctor find the blood you need and deliver the blood in the proper condition right to the hospital when you need it.
MeshLabels allows you to design your own bespoke garments and craft a look that is all you using the MESHWork app.
Furnish.ng provides access to the largest online catalogue of beautiful furniture designs.
These startups will all pitch on the day of the event to Hiro for a chance to win the US$2,500.
The meetup will take place on June 28, 2016 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Cre8 Space, a FinTech hub located at 6, Agoro Odiyan Stree, Eti-Osa, Lagos.
Hiro, who sponsored the pitch competition, will also be seriously looking for startups to invest in. Startups with the following themes: Mobile First, Energy, FinTech, Content, and On Demand Platforms, would interest him.
The meetup is organized by TechCircle, a tech-focused events startup established by Oo Nwoye, powered by Paystack, and supported by Café Neo and Fonebase Labs, makers of Callbase, Fonenode and WriteRack.
