Applications are currently being accepted for the 2016 edition of Slush Global Impact Accelerator (GIA), a program created to support startups that are solving the most pressing global challenges and contributing to the discussion on impact investing.
The program will bring impactful entrepreneurs from emerging markets to Helsinki to accelerate their businesses, attract additional financing and make an even greater impact on their societies and beyond.
The program includes online pre-event coaching and a Helsinki boot camp program from November 22 – December 2, 2016 which will culminate in Slush, Europe’s leading startup and technology event.
Interested entrepreneurs are required to take part in a local Slush GIA event in their country of residence.
In Africa, local events will take place in Mlab (South Africa), Buni (Tanzania) Bongohive (Zambia), IceAddis, (Ethiopia), CTIC Dakar (Senegal) IDEÁRIO (Mozambique) and The Mediterranean Development Initiative (Tunisia). Applications closes on July 31, 2016 
After applications closes, the selected entrepreneurs will attend the local competition where they will pitch their businesses in front of a local panel of judges.
The judges will shortlist 2-4 candidates who will be contacted by the Selection Committee for an interview. The Selection Committee will make the final selection decision based on a more in-depth application form filled by the candidates and the interview.
Slush Global Impact Accelerator was launched in collaboration with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and multiple partners globally.
 Although applications closes on July 31, 2016, entrepreneurs should endeavour to check with the participating hubs because the closing date may vary.
