Startup Weekend, a tech event that brings together aspiring and established entrepreneurs solely to (literally) launch a startup in 52 hours, is kicking off today in the island of Mauritius.
Aptly called Startup Weekend Mauritius, the event will bring developers, designers, business people, product managers, and entrepreneurs together to turn ideas into prototypes and launch technology enabled startups.
The event will start with pitches and thereafter brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation.
This will then be followed by hours of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation.
The event will end with demos and presentations in front of industry leaders, who will also give talks, and local entrepreneurs for critical feedback.
“Startup Weekends are the perfect environment in which to test your idea and take the first steps towards launching your own startup,” the organizers stated in a post.
Startup Weekend Mauritius commences today at Ebène, Plaines Wilhems, Mauritius from 17:30 and run till July 17, 2016 at 21:30 (MUT).
The event is a Techstars Startup Program organized by the ICT Associations namely, OTAM, CCI France Maurice & MITIA, in partnership with the Ministry of Technology, Communication & Innovation.
