Launched in 2015, Instant Articles makes it easy for news publishers to deliver fast, interactive articles to their readers in the Facebook mobile app.
Since launch, Instant Articles has provided a better reading experience for people on Facebook, and it is for this reason it has been made available in Messenger.
In Messenger, Instant Articles will work same way it does on Facebook, providing readers with great reading experience.
Readers will see a lightning bolt on the top right corner of some links shared in Messenger, which indicates the link is an Instant Article.
When readers tap on an Instant Article link in Messenger, it will load up to ten times faster than a standard mobile web article, thus making reading enjoyable.
“Now people can have the same fast, interactive experience reading Instant Articles in Messenger that they have in the Facebook app, and publishers can tell beautiful stories and reach their audiences through both Facebook and Messenger,” said Josh Roberts, Product Manager at Facebook.
Instant Articles in Messenger will roll out first for Android users, followed by iPhone in the coming weeks. Publishers who are interested in joining the Instant Articles program can click HERE to learn more.
