African startups have been invited to take part in the Global Fintech Hackcelerator, a 10 week virtual program to create impactful, market-ready, fintech solutions that solve real industry needs.
From the applications received, up to 20 startups will be selected to join the virtual Hackcelerator.
The selected startups, which are required to have solutions tackling one of the 100 published industry problem statements, will receive mentorship, infrastructure and API/data access, and a stipend of S$20,000.
The program will end in a Demo Day on November 15 during the Singapore FinTech Festival week, where the 20 startups will pitch their solutions to an audience made up of global industry leaders.
A panel of judges will select the best three startups, who will go on to receive cash prizes of S$50,000.
African startups interested in this contest should apply by July 31, 2016.
The Global FinTech Hackcelerator is organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in partnership with the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS),and powered by PwC and Plug and Play.
