Google finally rolls out video calling app, Duo

Google is finally rolling out its 1-to-1 video calling app, Duo which it announced at its annual software developer-focused conference, Google I/O back in May 2016.

Through the app, Google seeks to revolutionise the way people make video calls on mobile devices.

The app has a simple interface, is fast and reliable and designed for humans to actually use – it feels warm and inviting.

It has a feature called Knock Knock, which shows you a live video preview of the caller before you pick up, thereby making calls feel more like an invitation rather than an interruption.

Above all, Duo calls are end-to-end encrypted because security is such a big deal nowadays.

The Duo app started rolling out yesterday and will be live worldwide in the next few days. It’s available on Android and iOS.
