Mark Zuckerberg is in Abuja attending the Aso Villa Demo Day final

This dude sure knows how to spring up surprises!!!

First, he surprisingly appeared in Lagos, Nigeria few days ago, meeting with loads of people and doing loads of things, chief of which was eating our Jollof rice – a really big deal for some peeps.

He then surprisingly appeared in Nairobi, Kenya just yesterday. He made a stop at iHub, a Nairobi-based incubator and accelerator, where he met with developers building amazing businesses.

In Kenya, he had a meal at MAMA Oliech Restaurant with Joseph Mucheru, the Kenyan Cabinet Secretary of Information and Communications, and took time to visit a fun spot.

The 32-year old billionaire is surprisingly back in Nigeria to attend the Aso Villa Demo Day finals which is currently in progress – Mark is a special guest of honour at the event.

The Aso Villa Demo Day is an event aimed at celebrating some of the best Nigerians in technology innovation and creativity.

Three finalists – Shuttlers, Tracology and RecyclePoints – have beem selected to pitch in front of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari at the State House Conference Center, Abuja.

Investors, incubators, public and private sector decision makers will also witness the startups as they pitch.

The event is an avenue for the startups to get the needed resources to move to the next level.

Aside the pitch session, the event will also feature inspiring talks from thought leaders and experts from different economic sectors in Nigeria, and of course from Mark Zuckerberg (that’s me guessing).

The Aso Villa Demo Day is aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, job creation and economic growth through the use of new and emerging technologies. It is an initiative of the Presidency.
