The event helps startups to connect to investors, mentors, celebrity entrepreneurs, buyers, partners, consultants, developers and policy makers, thus helping the startups to grow and scale their businesses.
The Lagos edition, which promises to be eventful and impactful within the innovation ecosystem in Nigeria, will be filled with loads of exciting activities.
The event will feature programs such as Seed Stage ShowUP-to-Pitch, Growth Stage Pitch, Fireside Chat on Sourcing and Investing in Deals, and networking session amongst startups, investors and ecosystem players.
Also, the event will feature FutureHACK, a program designed to develop tech-driven solution out of research into future lifestyle that can be disrupted or amplified.
A FutureHACK competition will hold in Unilag on September 22 with 6 to 10 top-notch futuristic ideas pitched by the students selected to pitch at StartUP Friday.
The top three ideas will receive cash prizes from OIIE and be assigned mentors to help refine their ideas for prototype development.
The most significant aspect of the event will be the pitch by select Nigerian startups to Y Combinator, an American seed accelerator described as the world’s most powerful startup incubator, for funding and accelerator program.
StartUP Friday will hold on the aforementioned date at the Landmark Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos from 2:00 PM.
Started in February 2016 with 73 startup co-founders in attendance, the Lagos event will be the fifth edition of the programme.
Through the event, OIIE has deepened the value in startup community building through provision of seed funding, mentorship, grinding sessions, access to national and global platforms for more than 30 tech-driven startups in Nigeria.
