Celestine Omin, former software engineer at Konga, joins Andela

Celestine Omin, a former software engineer at Nigeria’s largest online marketplace Konga, has joined Andela, a talent accelerator co-founded by Aboyeji E Iyinoluwa.

In a blog post, Omin announced what he called a new chapter in his life and career, expressing his happiness at the opportunity of starting afresh.

“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life, a new opportunity, a fresh start. Today, I become an Andelan. I’m excited about the future, I can’t wait to see what it brings,” he said.

He’ll be taking up the role of Senior Technical Assistant at Andela, where he’ll be bringing the experiences, knowledge and lessons learnt over the years to bear.

A founding team member of Konga back in 2012, Omin has worked at the company in different capacities.

At a time, he was Technology Associate, and then SellerHQ – Software Engineer, where he lead a team of engineers to develop a solution that saved the company £200,000 in licensing fees.

Prior to Konga, he worked at DealDey, Nigeria’s number one daily deals website and LexFori Partners, a company based in Calabar. Omin is the convener of The GitHub Meetup in Africa.

His move to Andela didn’t come as a surprise to many. In a blog post a while back, he talked about his impending journey but left out the destination!
