The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) is accepting applications for the pilot edition of Pitch AgriHack, a competition to reward entrepreneurs with agricultural solutions.
The competition targets entrepreneurs with agricultural solutions that needs business model improvements (Early stage platform) and those with solutions that are already generating revenues (Advanced platform).
After the application period, a team of business experts and investors will select the entrepreneurs to participate in the competition.
As part of the competition, the selected entrepreneurs will attend a business training bootcamp and a pitching session to potential investors
The winning entrepreneurs will get a cash prize of up to €15,000, as well as promotional support, additional capacity building and networking opportunities.
They may also benefit from investments from supporters of Pitch AgriHack, and also receive additional incubation/acceleration opportunities.
Pitch AgriHack 2016 is open to young entrepreneurs from African, Caribbean and Pacific countries.
Applications will close on September 25, 2016. The selected finalists will be announced in the week of October 22, 2016 while the bootcamp and pitching events will hold in Kenya on November 22 – 24, 2016.
Pitch AgriHack is an ambitious four year project that complements CTA’s activities on ICT for agriculture. These include AgriHack Talent initiative, Apps4Ag learning opportunities, and Plug and Play events.
The competition is supported by African Development Bank (AfDB), the Centre for Agricultural Bioscience International (CABI) and mLab East Africa.
