Away for a few days and worried about the gang load of messages waiting for you on Slack? Fret not, help is here.
A new feature that makes it super easy for you to read all your unread messages has been added to Slack, the team collaboration tool that has been touted as the email killer.
The feature is All Unreads and it simply groups all your unread messages into one easily digestible, scrollable view, ensuring you can quickly scan what’s new, review what you need to, and clear the rest.
The All Unreads section is not hidden – it is at top of your Slack sidebar. Unread messages from your channels and direct message conversations are all placed there.
Once you’re done reading, you can mark entire channels and DMs as “read” one by one, or click the “Mark All Messages Read” button at the bottom of the view to clear them all at once.
This feature will definitely be a life saver as hopping to read unread messages from different team members will be greatly reduced.
To get the feature, turn it on under Preferences >Advanced > Channel List > Turn on All Unreads.
