According to the GSMA Ecosystem Accelerator report, there are 23 active tech hubs in Nigeria. You can make that 24 as a new one has landed and it’s called The Colony.
The Colony is located in the Allen Avenue area of Ikeja, Lagos, and offers a vibrant mix of skills and industries that’ll lead to new connections and collaborations.
Basically, The Colony does what most tech hubs do – provide a space complete with facilities – uninterrupted power supply, fast speed WIFI, et al – that enable entrepreneurs build the next big thing.
The hub offers four membership options – The Colony member, Hot desk, dedicated desk and private office – for entrepreneurs, all of which comes with different benefits.
The Colony membership plan costs N10,000 monthly with members getting to use the work space once per week while Hot desk goes for N15,000 monthly with members having 2 days work space per week for the month.
Aside these, The Colony organizes events (training, workshops and networking sessions) from time to time to foster collaborations and connections amongst members and the ecosystem at large.
One such event is Pitch The Colonists, a members-only pitch event. Another is Lunch & Learn, an event where participants gets to eat-out while making valuable connections in the process.
Other events includes The Colony Drill, an interactive remaining session, and The CEO’s sofa, a series of private convos with top entrepreneurs, CEOs, captains of industries and high profile professionals in the tech ecosystem.
