Federal Government appoints Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami DG of NITDA


The Federal Government has announced the appointment of Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami as the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

Dr. Isa has a degree in Computer Science, a MSc. in Computer Science and a MBA (Technology), all obtained from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.

He also holds a PhD in Computer Information Systems from Robert Gordon University in the United Kingdom.

A Chief Imam, he is currently a Professor of Computer Information System at the Islamic University of Madinah, the first Nigerian citizen ever to teach in the university since its establishment.

He has authored many books on religion, technology, politics and community reconciliation, and has participated in several seminars, conference and workshops as resource person, speaker, presenter and discussant.

As DG, Dr. Isa, who replaces Mr. Peter Jack (he was sacked by the FG), will steer the wheel of NITDA, taking it to its pre-determined destination.

Founded in 2001, the NITDA is mandated with creating a framework for the planning, research, development, standardization, application, coordination, monitoring, evaluation and regulation of Information Technology practices in Nigeria.
