Egyptian online recruitment startup, HireHunt raises funds from multiple investors

HireHunt, an Egyptian online recruitment platform has raised an undisclosed amount of funds – believed to be “in the upper range of the angel investment bracket”- from multiple investors.

Launched last year, Hire Hunt is a talent platform where applicants can show their skills, expertise & personalities through interactive job applications to get hunted by employers.

The startup will use the fresh funds to grow its team, which comprise 8 members at the moment, and become a global competitor in the online recruitment space.

“The capital will be mainly used from growing the team with a focus on optimising our sales, development and marketing processes,” said Basil Fateen, Hire Hunt founder.

Leading the investment round is Cairo Angels, Egypt’s leading network of business angels. Its chairman, Aly El Shalakany stated the investment was made partly due to Hire Hunt’s disruptive potential.

The business angels network is on an investment spree – it has committed over $1.5 million in 16 startups across a variety of industries in recent times – and looking to expand.

The other contributing investors weren’t disclosed but they came outside Cairo Angels’ network and were selected to help HireHunt grow.

Aside the funds, these other investors bring expertise to the table – they possess a wide variety of experience in sales, marketing, finance, HR and scaling.
