Job portal, Wutiko wins Seedstars Dakar


Wutiko, a professional network for Africa that lets anyone find jobs and jobseekers with their innovative machine learning technology, has won Seedstars Dakar, the Senegalese leg of Seedstars World.

Following calls for applications, nine startups were selected for the finals of the competition on October 14, 2016 at Jokkolabs.

After the pitch session, the prestigious jury selected Wutiko winner with the startup crowned “The Most Promising Seed-stage Startup of Seedstars World Senegal 2016.”

Wutiko will go on to represent Senegal at the global finals of the competition where it’ll compete with other startups from across the world for investments.

Placing second was Sharek (Solutions Makers), an app that let’s anyone transfer anything they wish fast and easily, while Weebi, a hardware/software product that lets shopkeepers keep track of their clients debt through their technology came third.

Seedstars Dakar was organized in partnership with local ambassador Concree, Orange, Microsoft, Brussels Airlines, Myriad Group, VC4Africa Intel and venue partner, Jokkolabs.

The Seedstars World train will now move to Harare, Zimbabwe in search of the most promising seed-stage startup. Already, Seedstars World has held events in 11 African countries.
