The Africa Startup Ecosystem, an African entrepreneurial community hosting digital events, boot camps, accelerators and startup expos for the region, has announced the launch of a Digital Accelerator for Africa.
Its first on the continent, the accelerator will commence with a full startup development boot camp covering ideation, product development, marketing, customer acquisition and funding.
This will be followed by a workshop keynotes from Lean Launchpad, Forbes list entrepreneurs and key investors, and a demo day where the finalists pitch in front of judges for the top prizes.
“The future is digital, so startup ecosystems in emerging markets need to take advantage of that with programs like this one,” said Christine Souffrant Ntim, founder of Africa Startup Ecosystem.
She added, “We launched digital accelerators for entrepreneurs of Africa and the diaspora to close the resource gap and diversify global startup success stories.”
100 startups will be selected to participate in the accelerator program, which runs from January 9 – 10, 2017. This will be pruned down to 10 and then 3, who will go on to get capital investment.
The Africa Startup Ecosystem is a subsidiary of Global Startup Ecosystem, which provides digital programs for startup ecosystems in Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Middle East, Europe, and Latin America.
