VoguePay Offers Low-Cost Online Payment Solutions With Simple-To-Use APIs

Sponsored Post / Thursday, September 13th, 2012

How do you really solve a problem like online payments? So far, several solutions have been proffered yet none seem to have made online payments easier both for developers, merchants and individuals.

A new online payment start-up, VoguePay, launched in May wants to make payments easier than before and provide more value to users at the lowest cost possible.

VoguePay offers a suite of tools that makes integrating an online payment solution a snap, thereby eliminating the cost of integrating payment gateways, which can take up to N150, 000 to set-up.

With its Mobile Apps Suite for Blackberry, Android, Windows and Symbian OS phones and an array of Developer Tools for integrating its API on any website, the start-up allows developers to save on development and integration costs while using the service.

Apart from the fact that you can use a single VoguePay account to accept payments from an unlimited number of websites, the service also lets users without a website to accept payments from clients via an email invoice which would be made payable to your VoguePay wallet. The service, though, charges you a 1% commission on each received payment transaction of the total transaction cost.

It also offers peer-to-peer funds transfers to other VoguePay users from your VoguePay account, just like PayPal. And if you need to accept payments from other channels, VoguePay allows payment processing across the major cardholders in Nigeria such as Interswitch, Mastercard, Verve, eTranzact and Visa.

Beyond online payments, VoguePay lets you withdraw money from your wallet into your bank accounts, although it charges you 1% of your withdrawal amount including a N50 processing fee. And all of these VoguePay features can be used without a yearly charge.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of VoguePay is that it supports mobile payments via its TEXT-DIRECT feature that works on any SMS-enabled mobile phone. What this means is that even though you don’t have Internet access, you can manage your account by SMS from anywhere.

The TEXT-DIRECT feature allows you to check your account balance by SMS, transfer money to another user by SMS, withdraw money from your wallet into your pre-configured bank accounts by SMS and also send invoice to your clients email by SMS.

While security is always a concern for online consumers and businesses, VoguePay offers a high level security data encryption and a registered SSL data encryption issued by GeoTrust, a VeriSign company and leading certificate authority.

Since its launch, VoguePay has processed over 9,000 transactions worth over N9.8 million for over 2700 merchants.

The company behind the online payment service, AFRISOFT, a software solutions firm dedicated to developing innovative software solutions that add value to organisations such as its SMS Server, a powerful and flexible SMS Gateway application that powers over 1000 websites both locally and internationally.
