A feeling of déjà vu

Just a week after Google's AI showdown, Microsoft started this week with a flurry of (similar) products at its Build event that got me in a feeling of déjà vu.

Some of the key products were the Phi-3- vision, a new multimodal model in the Phi-3 family of AI small language models (SLMs) now accessible on Azure to developers, real-time video translation on Microsoft Edge, and making Copilot become a virtual assistant.

With little or no difference from Google’s Gemini Nano, a small version of the Gemini model family that can be executed on-device on capable Android devices, Google Chrome's real-time live translation, and Gemini assistant announced last week.

We'll be taking a deep dive into these new products and features in the coming weeks as we know more, so expect comparison articles and takes on these AI models and features.

À bientôt!
