CHART: A Look at Indonesia’s PC market in Q2 2024

  • Indonesia’s PC market grew 17.9% YoY in Q2 2024 with 953,000 units shipped
  • Consumer demand was up 28.7% following the lifting of import restrictions
  • Asus led with 47.2% growth, while local brand Axioo thrived

Indonesia’s PC market has shown a remarkable recovery in the second quarter of 2024, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker.

The market recorded a total of 953,000 units of desktops, notebooks, and workstations shipped, reflecting a strong 17.9% year-over-year (YoY) growth.

One of the biggest drivers behind this impressive growth was a sharp increase in consumer segment demand, which surged 28.7% YoY. This rise came after the government made an unexpected decision to lift import restrictions on certain commodities, including notebooks, earlier than planned. Vendors were able to quickly restock for the back-to-school season, leading to strong sales.

One of the most notable beneficiaries of this market shift was Axioo, a local Indonesian brand. Axioo recorded a staggering 56% YoY growth, shipping 44.7k units compared to 28.7k units in the same period last year. The space left open by temporarily delayed shipments from international players allowed Axioo to expand its presence.
