Africa-focused fintech Zazuu raises $2 million to advance its payment marketplace
Zazuu, a fintech startup helping people in the diaspora to have better payment and credit services online has raised $2 million in its new funding round, to scale its cross-border payment marketplace.
- The fund will be invested in expanding its customer base, increasing its talent team, and scaling its new offering, Pay with Zazuu beyond Nigeria and Ghana.
- Zazuu evolves from being a chatbot in 2020 providing remittance information to a full-stack aggregator with over 17 money transfer companies serving the US, Canada, and seven other European countries.
- The startup has grown 2.3x in Q1 this year compared to 2021.
- Launch Africa, Founders Factory Africa, Hoaq Club, Tinie Tempah, a British rapper, Jason Ijoku of iROKOtv, and Babs Ogundeyi of Kuda invested in the round.
