Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda Limited (AMCUL) has announced a new partnership with Prudential Assurance Uganda Limited and Turaco Insurance Brokers Ltd, aimed at increasing access to insurance for low-income families and underserved communities in Uganda.

The new hospital cash insurance product called ‘Hospital Sente’ aims to ease Airtel Money’s customers’ financial burden associated with hospital admissions and death.

The collaboration will help alleviate the financial burden associated with hospital admissions and death by providing affordable financial coverage including funeral benefits for unserved individuals and families that are Airtel Money customers.

The product which is underwritten by Prudential Uganda is offered through Airtel Money powered by Turaco, a micro-insure tech that provides fast simple and inclusive insurance solutions in emerging markets.

Customers can conveniently access the product through Airtel’s Mobile money platform by dialling *185*7*6#.

Commenting on the partnership, Hamza Mutebi, General Manager of Turaco said "Strategic partnerships like these remain critical to enabling underserved Ugandans access to affordable insurance that provides a safety net in their times of need and ultimately peace of mind".
