Fans of AMD processors can now expect a much better upgrade, as AMD has announced its next generation of Ryzen laptop processors for generative AI workloads called "Ryzen AI 300 Series."

This development builds on AMD's partnership with Microsoft, as it is expected that the Ryzen AI 300 Series processors will be integrated into Microsoft AI-powered PCs.

According to AMD, the Ryzen AI 300 Series processors were built on the new AMD XDNA 2 architecture, which offers 50 TOPS of AI processing power, surpassing Copilot+ AI PC requirements, with three times the AI engine performance of the second generation of AMD Ryzen AI.

If you are a developer, content creator, or gamer, the Ryzen AI 300 Series processors promise that you can do what you do and much more on AI-powered PCs integrated with them without having to worry about performance, lags, or battery drainage.

Starting July 2024, the Ryzen AI 300 processors will be featured on the Copilot Plus PCs (laptops) announced at Microsoft’s recent Surface event, the Asus Vivobook S 15, and the HP OmniBook.

Other AI laptops that will feature the new AI processors include MSI’s Stealth A16, Summit A16, Prestige A16, and Creator A16; Asus’ Zenbook S 16, Vivobook S 14 and 16, and ProArt P16/X13, along with the Rog Zephyrus G16 and Tuf A14/A16 gaming laptops; and Lenovo PCs.

Given that more laptops are keen on integrating the new AMD Ryzen AI 300 processors, we expect AMD to heat up competition against Intel in the chips market and witness an increase in the percentage of laptops with its CPUs (19%) per data from Statista in the coming months.
