Anthropic Introduces the Claude Chatbot App to iPhones

OpenAI might be facing rekindled competition from its eternal rival Anthropic, as the AI startup releases its Claude chatbot app to iOS users.

This comes as Anthropic is determined to dominate the AI space and has stated that it wants to bring its product closer to users. As proof of this, it has introduced its chatbot app, which it believes is a true AI assistant that will become part of people's everyday lives and meet their every need.

The AI Chatbot Wars: A Comparison of Google Bard and ChatGPT
Both Bard and ChatGPT use language models, which means that, for the most part, they generate very similar results, however, there are still very distinct features that set them apart.

Anthropic has also confirmed that, with the new Claude app, users can now access new features. For example, with a user's consent, the Claude app can access a device's camera and photo library. The app is globally available to all Claude users, including the free version users and Claude Pro subscribers and can be downloaded for free on the App Store.

With this new development, this will be the first time that ChatGPT which released its iOS app last May, is facing immense competition on users' devices, and given what we know about these two, Claude seems to be winning most of their battles.

For example, Claude offers a larger context window for analyses and summaries and can process up to 200,000 tokens (about 150,000 words) compared to ChatGPT's 128,000 tokens (about 102,400 words).

Hopefully, OpenAI's ChatGPT can maintain its dominant position in the AI space and retain over 180.5 million users who use it as an everyday tool despite growing threats from Anthropic's Claude.
