Apple Music and Amazon Music have 'unwrapped' their Spotify Wrapped clone — and its dope
While Spotify users are awaiting their 2024 Wrapped, Apple Music and Amazon Music users can now check out their listening habits during the year.
It’s that time of year again—when music apps reflect on your listening habits and serve up a snapshot of your year in sound. This year, however, Apple and Amazon have taken an early lead, launching their annual recaps before Spotify Wrapped.
While Spotify continues to dominate the cultural conversation with its Spotify Wrapped, Apple Music Replay and Amazon Music Delivered have introduced new features that could tempt listeners to explore what they have to offer. Meanwhile, YouTube Music also unveiled its 2024 Music Recap.
Apple Music Replay is back and better than ever, now fully integrated into the app. For the first time, you don’t need to visit a website to dive into your music stats.
If your iPhone is running iOS 18.1 or later, Replay 2024 is just a tap away, accessible directly from the Home, New, and Search tabs. For those using older versions, the web option remains available, but the in-app experience feels like a much-needed upgrade.
Replay 2024 dives deeper than before, showing not just your top songs, albums, and artists, but also whether you rank in the top 500 or 1,000 listeners for your favourites—an upgrade from the previous top 100. You’ll also find monthly breakdowns, streaks of consecutive days you’ve streamed, and highlights like the most Shazam’d songs and most-read lyrics.
This year’s top tracks include Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” for UK listeners, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” worldwide, and Benson Boone’s “Beautiful Things” as Shazam’s most-searched song.
Amazon Music, not to be left out, has introduced its own take on the yearly recap with Amazon Music Delivered. This feature offers a detailed look at your top songs, artists, and podcasts, but it also brings something unique to the table by integrating Alexa.
If you’re an Amazon Music user with Alexa-enabled devices, you may receive a surprise voice message from one of your top artists. A flashing yellow light on your Alexa device signals the arrival of this exclusive treat, adding a layer of personalization that sets Delivered apart.
To access Delivered, all you need to do is open the Amazon Music app and tap the “2024 Delivered” banner on the Library page. Alongside your recap, you’ll find a curated playlist titled “Top Songs 2024,” available both in the app and via Alexa.
As Apple and Amazon vie for attention with these updates, Spotify users remain in suspense, waiting for the arrival of Wrapped. Until it drops, Apple and Amazon’s recaps offer music lovers plenty to explore and share, proving that the battle for your year-end playlist is fiercer than ever.
