It's Glowtime: Apple Officially Announces iPhone 16 Launch Event
After much anticipation, the next big tech event, the Apple launch event date has finally been announced via an invite sent to media organisations. According to the invite, the event - with the tagline It's Glowtime - will happen on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park.
There have been many rumours over what to expect at the event. From the highly anticipated iPhone 16 lineup and features like the capture button to even the device's potential launch price rumoured to be $799. Ultimately, all these questions will be answered in a few weeks.
Alongside the iPhone 16, we expect to hear of their other lineups during the launch, like their Apple Watch Series 10 (or X if they follow the phone's naming trend) and what its new chip would be like.
The Apple launch event, it's Glowtime, is also expected to be Apple's way of showcasing many of its software advancements like potential advances made with Apple Intelligence.
Reportedly, most, if not all of its software updates announced at the WWDC24 event like iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11 and its other major operating system updates should go live not long after the event. According to Engadget, we might also see some entry-level and mid-tier Airpods 4 in a couple of weeks.
Previous reports and rumours about the launch put the date of the event at September 10, following past trends from the company. The date turned out to be the first surprise. And now, with reports of the company producing some of its Pro model phones in India, we might also see some of its made-in-India phones at the event.
What other surprise could they have in store for us? We'll have to wait to find out.
