Apple reportedly delays Apple Intelligence features for iOS 18.2 beta
Apple’s highly anticipated AI-powered tools, Image Playground and Genmoji, are now expected to launch with iOS 18.2 in October 2024, following a delay from their originally planned release.
As Apple fans tune into the iPhone 16 launch today, many are also looking forward to the highly anticipated Apple Intelligence features: Image Playground and Genmoji.
These tools have been generating buzz since they were first teased in June 2024, and while initially expected to debut sooner, they’re now likely to roll out in the iOS 18.2 beta in October 2024, with a full release expected by December.

Both features are part of Apple’s ongoing push into AI-powered creativity. Image Playground is an AI tool that allows users to create images in three distinct styles—Animation, Illustration, and Sketch—from simple prompts. The goal is to make image creation more accessible, especially in apps like Messages, where sharing visual content has become central to communication.
Meanwhile, Genmoji is expected to take your emoji experience to the next level. Rather than relying on the same standard emojis everyone uses, you’ll be able to generate custom emojis based on prompts or even photos of real people.
